Risk 1
The GetChecked® Risk 1 profile is a comprehensive test designed for the early detection of two common sexually transmitted infections (STIs), chlamydia and gonorrhea. Swabs or self-swabs from the pharynx, anus, urethra or vagina are collected to detect a possible infection with these bacteria. As these STIs are often asymptomatic, this screening also allows symptom-free people to know their status and initiate early treatment if a test is positive.
Please note: For meaningful test results, compliance with the recommended diagnostic window after a possible risk contact is crucial. The diagnostic window describes the period of time between an infection and the earliest possible time at which an infection is detectable. Performing tests before the end of this period can lead to an infection not being reliably detected. Detailed information on the specific diagnostic gap of the respective tests can be found in the analyses.
This profile was created in collaboration with PD Dr. Karoline Aebi-Popp and the company GetChecked. Further information can be found on the website: https://www.get-checked.ch/.
The Get Checked® Risk 1 profile focuses on two of the most common sexually transmitted infections (STIs): chlamydia and gonorrhea. This screening is particularly recommended for:
- Individuals who have had specific risk contact and want targeted screening.
- People who have symptoms that could indicate an infection with chlamydia or gonorrhea.
- Sexual partners of people who have tested positive for chlamydia or gonorrhea and want to safeguard their own health situation.
For a broader STI screening, which includes additional tests for HIV and syphilis, we recommend the extended GetChecked® Screening. This is indicated if you want a comprehensive overview of your own STI status or if you have risk factors for several STIs.

We will do everything we can to provide you with your results as quickly as possible. As a rule, you will receive your result within 3 to 4 weeks from the day the test is carried out.
Chlamydia trachomatis (up to 2-week diagnostic window):
Test for chlamydia, a common and treatable bacterial infection. It is recommended to wait at least 2 weeks after the last risk contact before performing this test.
Neisseria gonorrhoeae (gonorrhea, up to 2-week diagnostic window):
Testing for gonorrhea, a bacterial infection that can cause inflammation and discharge. A test is usually conclusive from 2 weeks after contact.
